With sadness we announce the passing of Lieutenant Commander Kazimierz J. Kasperek, who died peacefully Sunday, June 29. The Wake will be Wednesday, July 2 6 pm - 8 pm at Florida Memorial Garden Cemetery chapel, 5950 South US 1, Rockledge, Florida. A Requiem Mass will be at 10 am July 3 at Immaculate Conception Church, US A1A, Melbourne Beach, Florida. Following the Mass, burial will be at Rockledge Memorial Garden Cemetery. A gathering in the Immaculate Conception Church will follow. Condolences may be sent to Irene Kasperek, 120 Duvall, Melbourne Beach, FL 32951 and to their daughters Marie and Janet.

Kazik’s Polish Navy by Kazimierz J. Kasperek, Lieutenant Commander (ret.) “Kazik”

with Pat McDonough. Kazik was on active duty from February 1936 to May 8, 1945. On ships of the Polish Navy–in–Exile, he served with the Allied Forces. As Chief Petty Officer, Kazik was at the helm in major sea battles and special operations including the suicide convoy to Malta, the evacuation of Dunkirk, the invasions of France, Greece and Italy, hunts for U-boats, and convoys across the North Atlantic. He escaped a German POW camp in brutal cold, crossing frozen rivers and canals.
An exciting, insightful narrative history of valor, optimism, and love. More than 80 original never-before-published photographs. Appendixes include excerpts of agreements affecting post-war Poland. Epilogue brings the story to present time.
